The Philips Respironics DreamStation humidifier has been designed to only attach to the DreamStation. The humidifier adds moisture to the air and enhances comfort when using CPAP by reducing dryness in the nose and throat. The humidifier has an adaptive mode which monitors the rooms temperature and will fluctuate the humidity level to optimise the humidity for you. This feature can also be turned off and the humidifier can be used like a traditional humidifier with no adaptive mode. The adaptive mode will fluctuate the heat levels when your room cools to prevent condensation in the tubing and interface.
The heated humidifier also comes with a heated tube to assist with optimising the humidity by reducing the chance of condensation occurring. The heated tube and humidity levels can be adjusted independently of each other.
